Todd, who looks to be about five years old, is standing by his dad's desk, holding a misshapen clay mug he made in kindergarten that day. He tugs at his dad's jacket, but is shooed off. He stands and waits for a few minutes off to the side, but his father never even looks up again. He smashes the mug against the floor and runs off, but his father still doesn't get up.

--

Then, he is sitting at a desk in a classroom, alone, and looks about eleven years old this time. "DETENTION" is written on the board. He gets up and presses his ear against the door, where his teacher and another teacher are talking.

"He'd be expelled ten times over by now if his dad couldn't afford to buy the whole school."
"He's nothing like I'd expect a kid from such good parentage to act. Guess rotten apples can come from any tree."

Todd swings the door open and runs down the hall, flipping the two teachers the bird before leaving the school.

--

Looking more like he does now, Todd sits in a fancy hotel room with Envy Adams, who is getting her makeup ready for their upcoming concert. There is a knock at the door. He opens it, and his parents are standing there. They hug him, apologize for never being real parents to him all these years and tell him that they love him and are so proud of everything he's done. But they fade away, Envy fades away, and soon he's just sitting in a place that looks like one of the rooms in the Facility, alone.
