[Hey, Facility. Here's something very rare. Adachi accidentally turned his phone, and he's broadcasting his freakout from talking with Stein. However, you can only hear him and not see him because he threw his phone down.]
Son of a fucking bitch!
[After a few moments, Adachi's face comes into view. His hair's twisted and in even more of a mess

Actually even better than that, why don't we make a little deal?

What do you want from me, then?

I'd much rather this didn't get bloody. Or chatty. [Especially considering in a lot of ways, Stein knows that it's his word against Adachi's and he's not in very good standing with people right now.]

But what exactly did he say, I wonder? Did I seal off the door of a regular old cop who was worried for his safety, or have I gotten rusty?
Maka trusts you. Is there a good reason I should?

I'd tell you, but he agreed to my demands, and I see no reason to not hold up my end of the bargain. But I will say this: Don't trust that guy. He's an asshole.

Well, if you hadn't gathered already, I helped him out with the door. He puts on a good act, and he seemed legitimately scared. I didn't sense any magic on him, is he just a psychopath?
His door is now going to be about ten times harder to break down by physical force, and you'll get a nasty electrical shock if you try. The room itself is a null zone to anyone who doesn't get let in, magic will be much harder if the wards are active.
I make it a policy of mine never to make a lock I don't have the key to, though. If something goes wrong on his side of the bargain... Tell me first. Things will be a lot simpler without those wards to deal with.

But like I said, as long as he holds up his end of the deal, there's no reason for me to kill him, or break down his door, or tell anyone what he's done.
If he doesn't, though... I'll make sure I come to you before I start fucking him up.

Let him feel safe behind his door for now. He must know I can undo what I've done, or if not I'll let it drop some point in the future when I'm talking to him. Maybe that'll help keep his nice face on.

Aren't you worried that might make him resent you? It's probably safer for you to just assume that his nice face is all he is. I've dealt with people like this before; as soon as they think their persona has been compromised, they lash out.

That'd be a sight to see. Don't get me wrong, it's against everything I know to underestimate a mortal human, but he has no access to firearms. If he did, I might be concerned, but even for a maniac, a normal human going toe to toe with me would be a losing proposition.
Also, indulge me a moment of curiosity. I know you cut on Darc, otherwise his little boyfriend wouldn't have put up the bloody posters in the first place, and he wouldn't be so pissed at you. Why him, though? He seems like a fairly dangerous guy to pick as an unwilling subject.

I guess it's hard for me to imagine him as completely normal, but I suppose it's quite possible.
He wasn't particularly unwilling at the time. But regardless, he's interesting and I wanted to learn more about him. I didn't know he had a boyfriend though. I guess that explains his silly little reaction when I made a crack about him being willing to come to my suite only because I was female at the time.

Not unwilling? Darc? I somehow get the feeling that Darc is just unwilling about everything, why would he volunteer to let you open him up?
You didn't hear that from me, by the way. Darc's rather touchy about that fact, as you probably witnessed.
Guess I wasn't the only person made a fool of by a crafty genderswitched guy, huh?
[Mental fist shaking. "REEEEEEENOOOOOOOO!!!]
