[There’s static and then a view, skewed from the bed to show the room at large. Tomoe moves through the door of 28 B, eyes downcast at first, possibly lost in thought, and likely expecting the room to be empty. When she sees it is, in fact, not empty she looks up with a slight start, eyes widening before blinking a couple times in disbelief.]

[The reaction to the disembodied voice was rather telling, all things considered. Kenshin's eyes narrowed and he stepped closer to Tomoe, hand moving to hover above the hilt of the wooden weapon as he shifted into a slightly defensive position.]

[Between her and....what appeared to be a tiny box, with a person inside, on the bed, as his eyes finally tracked to the 'berry. There was a blink, before the red-head went out of his guard position, and carefully moved over. Still wary, examining the object visually, and unsure what to make of the image of the girl inside. What was this]

[The voice actually threw Tomoe for a moment too--this being her experience of one of the 'berries coming on of their own volition (aside from a couple accidental replies she'd made over the last week).]

[she followed the sound back to the bed, raising a hand in Kenshin's direction as he reacted so defensively--which... wasn't bad, but she knew what it was.]

[She stood quickly, following him and peering over his shoulder to the girl's image. Lord, she was going to have to try to explain these things too, wasn't she?]

I haven't changed, Reishun-chan...

[A tiny box with a 9-year-old in it, oooh, threatening! But anyway, Reishun just watches watch, looking less than enthused.]

[She wondered why nothing happened to some poeple... She then turns her attention to Kenshin.]

[It's only for a week. It's only for a week. It's not permanent. Reishun will be telling herself that for a while.]

[There was a blink, and the familiarity towards him the girl spoke with, the way Tomoe reacted... Shifting down, Kenshin peered more closely at the box, still pondering that evenas he noticed the faint sadness the other responded with. Besides her downcast expression, there had been something in her tones as she'd asked her question about him remembering her.]

I'm......sorry, I don't...Reishun-chan? Could you perhaps explain more of what is going on though, since you seem to understand it better than me?

[Polite, and letting some of his suspicion go. Sad, for hurting her even though he hadn't meant it and wasn't sure how he had done so.]

[Tomoe nodded to Reishun, picking up plainly on the girl's disappointment.] I am...

[She watched the feed, setting a hand on Kenshin's back as he leaned down. Thus far with interactions between he and Reishun she had felt the need to step back so as not to interfere... now, at least for the moment, she felt like she almost needed to be a bridge of sorts.]

[brb hugging a kitten. No, seriously, she gives the orange kitten Nami a hug, lifting her mood a little.]

Well, explain, what? About this place, the doctors, or this experiment? See, there's a lot I could explain.

[And she doesn't want to go over everything unless she has to.

[Teen Kenshin may not have much experience with children, but he'd have to be blind and far more dense to not get the disappointment in Rei's tone, and the sadness too. Even with her cuddling her kitten. There's a sigh, and he drops the suspicion more, just now looking like a very serious and quiet teen.]

There clearly is...but you don't have to if you don't want to. I can manage. Reishun...-chan. [There is some hesitation there, still weird about that.] I'm......I really am sorry that I'm not who you are used to.

[And that's genuine sorrow, even if it's hard to see. Kenshin even now doesn't like hurting people, not really.]

Okay, well, I guess I'll try to explain it. But Kenshin, you just gotta accept some things even though they won't make sense, okay? That's just how it is.

[And without waiting for his answer she takes a deep breath and continues.]

They're mean doctors and they experiment on us, one experiment each week, but you don't gotta worry about not having your thumbs or flesh eating bacteria because you're the experiment this week. [So many phrases and things in there Kenshin didn't get...Tomoe's explanataion had made more sense in a lot of ways...Gods or demons really. But the collar at least explained part of why his ki sensing felt 'fuzzy'. The rest of it--well, all of it really, made his head hurt.]

...That......that's a lot. What...what's video? You mean you don't live in the little box?
