I guess so! It really hurts still but I'll probably be okay!

Oh. And I died!

Th-that's not good.

Umm, I've got no legs! We can... we can roll together, if that makes you feel better. [He hugs one of these human pillows to his chest and stares at the poor hurting guy from Derse.]

How'd you, uhh, die? I wasn't around when the big fight went down!

No legs? How'd that happen? I'm pretty sure most people are supposed to have legs!

And yeah, I'd like that!

[He pauses, and looks just a little bit awkward.] Well, Jack shot me with his lasers, I think. But it wasn't on purpose! It was an accident!

They didn't work so my friends cut them off. [Big big grin.] They put metal ones on but then they didn't work either! Uum, I'll get more metal ones later though. Ones that work! They're really cool.

And, uhh... Jack scares me. I haven't spoken to him before.

Oh geez! Didn't that hurt? It sounds like it would!

He's kind of scary sometimes, yeah! And he's almost always angry but I like him a lot anyway because he's my friend and he's my boss right now, too!

Yep! [He's still grinning though. At least... until that next part.]

H-He's your boss? But, you were always really nice and sweet! ... Well, actually, OK, I guess I understand that. Jack's a lot like Karkat, huh? [Tavros curls his finger to his chin and nods wisely.]

Yep. That makes a lot of sense. I guess he might be a nice guy in the end.

[Deuce has to think about this for a moment, but he eventually nods. That makes enough sense to him.] Yeah! He kind of is. Except Jack doesn't confuse me like Karkat does!

Yep! I think he's nice! But only when he's not being mean!

I-I should have spoken to you sooner! [Tavros feels like he and Deuce could be instant companions.]

... Uuuhhhhm, I agree that Karkat is really confusing. [He rubs the back of his head and laughs.] B-but I don't understand Jack either. All I know about him is... stabs! Stabs aren't good.

Well, you're speaking to me now![They will be the best companions. The best.

He lets out a little giggle here.] He really likes stabbing things! But, besides that he's mostly easy to understand! Usually he just gives out orders and stuff!

O-Oh yeah! I am, huh. [He looks SURPRISED at this. Losing his legs must have put him out of it. He can't always be this doofusy.]

Buuut, good leaders do more than just order, don't they? O-order and stab. Like... err, don't they help their friends out? [Yeah, like Tavros knows anything about being a good leader.]

You sure are! [Deuce doesn't even notice the doofusiness. Sometimes obvious things just need to be pointed out!]

Sure they do! But that's why I think that Jack is a really good leader! 'Cause he helps me out when I need it! And, um, I'm sure he'd help out the other members of the crew if they were here, too!

[Tavros gasps with renewed vigor!]

J-Jack is a good leader? Really? He helps out like that?! Wooow... I didn't, err, consider him to be that kinda type of leader. No wonder Karkat was his friend. [Hmmmmm...]

I'll say hello to him sometimes. Is he friends with Jade and the other humans here?

He is! And he does! Though, I guess he has to like you a lot to actually help out and he's still kind of grumpy about it most times but yeah!

[There's a bit of a pause here.]

Umm... noooo? He doesn't really like them very much at all! I'll say hi to him for you, though!

Yeah that sounds like Karkat, heheh.

... Wait, he's not?

... But there was a big fight! Between, umm, someone named Jack Noir and my friends! And people got hurt! And people were crying! That... umm, that wasn't your Jack, right? The one with the lasers?
