I just had one of the most intense and lovely fangirl experiences--I was on omegle looking for someone to RP Charles/Erik (from X-Men First Class) with me, and got linked up with my usual RP partner. Generally she tends to need to leave early because she has classes in the morning, but she has Monday off so we got to RP all the way through this scene, and good thing too.
It was pretty much the most intense Charles/Erik RP. The premise was that after the events of the movie, even with them being not on the same side, Erik occasionally visits Charles privately, basically because Erik misses him and Charles is good at helping Erik de-stress (not even in the PWP sense, sometimes just with things like using his telepathy to fix Erik's headaches, or even just sometimes Erik has trouble completely relaxing around other people). Anyway, in this RP Erik shows up and tells Charles it's the end. And then there was much angst.
And the amazing things about this RP:
- we both had a decent grasp of English, which made the RP itself flow a lot more easily
- my RP partner's Charles is so adorable and lovely and easily hurt, and he gets angry sometimes and isn't just a wilting flower
- I get to make Erik emotional. The awesome thing about Erik is that he canonically cries when he's really moved by something, which makes me feel more comfortable having him emote, even when he's normally not forthcoming about his feelings.
- neither of us were afraid of ending it badly, which it did, and it was intense and painful but the right place to take the story
- at various points in this RP we were both crying. I mean, maybe this is me being a silly fangirl, but I think it's absolutely amazing that I, as a fangirl, can find someone else who loves the same thing as I do online somewhere and then collaborate to make a story that is so emotional it makes both of us cry.
One day I will motivate myself to stop just doing RP and actually write this stuff into fanfic. >.>
