Alright, talk about a trip!

So, I left October 28th at 10pm. Got to the San Diego Airport, and not only was is smoky as hell out obviously but there was an insane amount of fog that had rolled into the airport. Luckily we got out just in time and we actually left early, about 9:50pm. Now, I hadn't flown since I was 9 years old, and then it was only a 45 minute trip back from Vegas. So I was a bit on edge about a 6 hour flight. So we take off and I was kind of in surreal mode. The flight was bumpy, the movie ( Alex and Emma) sucked so I tried to get some sleep. I managed to get about an hour. We landed at JFK around 5:45am, in pouring rain, 25 minutes early. I exit the plane into the airport and was disgusted at how dirty and uncared for it was. Now it was time to catch the airport shuttle....

I crossed the street to the shuttle stop, now drenched from the cold rain to stand and wait 20 minutes. I get on the bus, now this bus costs 13 dollars to take fromt he airport to Grand Central, you would think they could at least make it smell like anything but the overwhelming stench of wet dog and piss.( Now please tell me why the heater is on in New York everywhere you fucking go and it was like 60 degrees, it wasn't even cold!!!!) So there I am being transported through a city I have never seen and what does Sharmaine do? Falls ASLEEP! HAHA!

GRAND CENTRAL: Pouring Rain, I had to wait to cross the street to get into the station and by the time I got in there I was soaked through. I arrived there at about 7:30 am. So I wander around trying to find an area to sit down and relax at and finally I come across the bottom portion of the station and some plastic couch looking chairs that Sean had actually told me about. I take a seat and begin my wait for Sean to arrive. Now it's 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 and no Sean. Now he had called from a payphone at the New York border and said the traffic was absolutely horrendous, then he called again about 10 am and said he was about 20 minutes away. The grand central cops didn't like that I was taking up valuable customer space so they prepared to write me a ticket it seems so I jetted up and started to walk around. I ventured all around Grand Central feeling lost and a bit frightened really because I had no idea where Sean was at this point. I watched a Japanese drum and culture exhibition towards the front doors and finally my phone rings about 12:45pm. 5 hours after my initial arrival at Grand Central Sean was finally there. I stayed put and he ran up to me and gave me the greatest hug in the world, it was so relieving to see him and now have him by my side.....

I was so exhausted at this point that nce in the car I just kind of rested my head on his shoulder and slept off and on while we drove from New York to New Haven, Connecticut. I got to see Central Park which was absolutely beautiful and Harlem which was beautiful in its own way. Connecticut was so so so beautiful and I had the best tour guide I could have asked for......

2nd installment later on....
