Knitting Stuff

Yes, more knitting stuff. :D

Firstly, I decided my needles were getting out of hand just sticking them in skeins in my basket, so with a remnant of brocade from a trimmed curtain, some random black velvet, and a cotton print lining, I sewed up a needle case with some red yarn. Later, I added that little matching bag for holding buttons. I only did some fast and loose measurements so it's not perfect, but, it works and it didn't cost me $40!

Today I made a little yarn bag, and of course, more projects.

The yarn bag is designed to hang off my elbow when I'm working, and make working on a project in random places easier and neater. The handle is just some acrylic yarn in an icord, with more of that to sew it up and create a knotted string to cinch it closed.

The peacock blue silk peeking out there was attached to this headband, but one of the cats chewed on one part of it until it broke, for some reason. The only yarn they've ever chewed on, although the working end gets attacked now and then when I'm knitting along. The headband will close with pearl buttons, when it's done.

My big project right now is this, with a wicked long cuff and poofy sleeves I couldn't resist. I'm making it out of Rowan wool with a variable gauge, creating some interesting texture I'm liking so far. The red things are just row markers and going to be cut off when I'm done, if you're wondering.

Other than that, I've made a sparkly black velvet glove with a pearl button on the cuff, which I totally love.

The wool yarn for the sweater-thing was my birthday gift from mum, given early so I could get a head-start. It's wonderful stuff, even if it's a little itchy. Of course, wool is like that.
