Interlude among the dead

*Aloysius is left disgruntled by the restriction of not being able to pick up Ms. Crisp with the car for their task in the cemetery. Having him drive about town in such an easily recognized vehicle when they are trying to keep his transformation a secret would be detrimental. If the Aloysius they knew before was old-fashioned, the younger one is worse, having never even experienced the customs of the modern age. He accepts being driven by her only reluctantly, and is silent the whole way over. It should be some small consolation that his expression is one of serious thought, not sulking. He wears an older coat, unfamiliar as Aloysius’ usual one, and insists on being the one to carry whatever supplies they might need.*
