It was on a cold winter day that Josef Kostan lost his heart a second time to a human woman. Elle Bishop had been all that his first true love hadn't. She was outgoing and loud, where his former lover was shy and timid. Elle was eccentric and had many flaws, where she had been perfect, even spotless...
But it was this opposite of characters and personality that made the difference between life and death. Where his first love had not been strong enough to handle the transformation from human to vampire, Elle had been almost like a natural.
Her first feeding should have gone a little awkward; Josef even expected a fight from his sparkly lover, considering that he had been offering her father to her. Even now, years later, Josef couldn’t think of that night without a mischievous little smirk on his face. The way Bob Bishop had looked and pleaded with his un-dead daughter, the way Elle looked at him coolly, not needing his approval and love anymore... ... she truly was a perfect natural vampire.
