Disclaimer: Roswell and its characters don’t belong to me. I own nothing, I only write fan fiction for funs and entertainment.
A/N: A fluffy piece of something…with a bittersweet lining. I think the pairing is actually pretty sweet... only it might be one sided, considering Tess’ bigger interest in Max.

Roswell ; Kyle/Tess ; dancing
He took her hand in his, and then placed his other on her slender waist. She stiffened a little, not used to so much human contact, but made herself relax. He took a decisive step to the front, and took her with him. She followed while he led. One step followed the next, and before she knew it, they were dancing across the empty living room.
The clearing of a voice brought them back from the momentary haze that their mind had placed them both in. She shyly ducked her head, while Kyle turned around to see his father stand in the hallway. He looked amused, while one eyebrow was raised.
“I was just...” hesitated Kyle for a moment.
“... showing me how to dance!” finished Tess when she noticed Kyle’s hesitation. And then she skipped to where the sheriff stood and continued with more enthusiasm. “Max is going with me to the dance!”
Sheriff Valenti smiled down at the girl who had in a short spam of time become like his own daughter, but his eyes drifted shortly to his own son, noting the disappointment on the younger mans face.
“That’s nice Tess... Have fun!” he told her, before he turned and went to the kitchen. As he left, he heard Tess’ excited voice telling Kyle to continue to teach her how to dance. And in that moment, he felt sorry for his son, and the fact that Max Evans was yet again having the girl his son was having feelings for.
He didn’t feel bitter towards Max, only sorry for his son.
