She looked at the man in her arms. His face was pale; his body was broken and covered in blood. She didn’t even feel the cold around her, as she nuzzled his ice-cold face with her nose, her cheek brushing against his hair. Her hand was stroking his face, hair and from time to time his lips.
She closed her eyes, and imagined to hear his heart beat, instead of the howling wind.
“I’m sorry Chloe...” spoke a familiar stranger’s voice in the distance. But she didn’t really register it, as she continued to hold onto the body in her arms.
The crystal towers of an alien fortress towered over her, trapping her and the cold dead body of a man she had loved; but she didn’t even see it. All she felt was cold, as she continued to hold the only thing she had left.
“We’ll run away... and we’ll be happy together, just you and me. We might even start a family, somewhere no one will think of looking. Just you and me... only us.”
