He watches her sleep. And he can feel her pain. She said she had just wanted to feel. That she was sorry, and that she wouldn’t do something like it again.
“Just please don’t leave me, please!”
He told her in his emotionless voice that he would always watch over her, and it had been all she had needed for her to fall asleep with a sad smile on her face.
She is restless in her sleep, she tosses and turns. He looks at her, and then out of the window. He knows what it is that she feels inside… what she hopes, and wishes for. But there is no way in which this will work.
A paramedic outside, on the street, in the night, helping an older woman into the ambulance catches his attention. Davis Bloom. A nice deserving young man.
His gaze falls back on her. She is restless in her sleep. He thoughtfully covers her with the blanket she just kicked to the floor. Maybe she will have a happy ending still…
