She wasn’t looking at anything, just staring off into space, while clutching the half empty bottle to her chest.
“It won’t help you” came his emotionless voice. “Drinking is never a solution.”
She felt like a child that had been chastised.
“I know” she replied and ducked her head. She felt embarrassed, couldn’t believe what she was feeling and how silly it was. She shouldn’t have feelings for him. He was only watching out for her, because she was his … job.
“Go to sleep Chloe,” he said “I will watch over you.”
“I know…” she started sobbing. Her feelings for him would be her downfall, she knew it would never work out. He came and stood close to her, but never touching her.
“Go to sleep Chloe, rest a little.”
She nodded and resisted giving Castiel a kiss on the cheek, like she wanted to.
