The right one for her
Clark Kent always knew that Jimmy Olsen just wasn’t the right guy for his best friend and first kiss Chloe Sullivan. Jimmy was a sweet and nice guy, but Clark saw him as just too naïve and he doubted that Jimmy could ever really protect Chloe in the way that she deserved. In the way that she needed it.
From his point of view Chloe was a danger magnet, and he didn’t mean it meanly or badly. The facts spoke for themselves. It was always Chloe that got attacked from a meteor infected person. She had been ghost possessed more than once, and dated boys that eventually tried to kill her.
Just that one problem of Chloe being a danger magnet proved to him that the man she was supposed to be together with had to be stronger than the average Jimmy Olsen. So it occurred to him that the kind of man that was supposed to be together with Chloe was supposed to be someone a little more ‘super’. Secretly he still hoped that she would come to this conclusion herself, and turn to someone that fitted better.
Of course he never did imagine that in the end Chloe would cancel her wedding and instead get together with the newly befriended paramedic Davis Bloome. Clark could only hope that Davis, whom he could for some reason not stand at all, would be the kind of man that was right for his best friend and first kiss.
