I think Harry is going to be finding Horcruxes in Grimmauld Place, Godric's Hollow, and maybe Hogwarts, because he doesn't know how to do what it took to find this Horcrux.
Twice we are told he didn't see Ginny before he left. If it was to tell how he felt about that, I could see it. But just being a mention of a fact, I wonder if we're supposed to wonder what she was doing at the time. I assume she was studying for OWLS. Have I read too many fan fiction stories if I wondered whether she was helping Draco?
We don't know if the potion in the basin is the same kind Voldemort left, or a different one RAB chose. If Dumbledore was alone, would he have revived and drank from the lake, only to be pulled in? When the Inferi came after Harry, did they ignore Dumbledore? Could someone have flown over the lake on a broom? It wasn't foolproof security. Maybe the original potion was deadly.
I liked that we saw Harry express his care and concern more than ever before. And about time too, if his greatest power is to love. He seems to have gotten "thinking feeling" down, too. He was horrified, but knew what he had to do and focused on the fact that the effect seemed to be in Dumbledore's mind. Well, until he completed the task and Dumbledore collapsed, anyway.
Dumbledore's mutterings sound like the result of Voldemort, or Grindlewald, torturing his family or students because he failed in some way. I wonder if we'll ever find out what it was.
Alchemy: This is an easy place to see the symbolism of a chemical wedding. Two (or more) alchemic squares were completed on the way to the cave, one before and two, I believe, after their joint Appartion. The 4 elements joining produce a circle, representing the Stone. There were circles in the cave; the island, the basin, ripples in the lake, and the lake itself. It was dark, they were in sea water, the moon and stars (for Sun) were present. Dumbledore's silveriness and half-moon glasses were mentioned. Dumbledore was calm, Harry was not, like sulphur and agent vive. Harry achieved thinking feeling to continue feeding the potion, and showed love for Dumbledore. A sacrifice or death is required. That could be the blood payments, and the mutual horror of the potion draining. The cave is also like the grave in which King Sol and Queen Luna die from their earlier states and emerge from together.
