I don’t know where Chapter 13 is, but here’s Chapter 14….

Chapter Fourteen: Felix Felicis

Since the Half-Blood Prince’s potions book, Hermione has been extremely annoyed. She continues to snap back at Harry and Ron, especially when something regarding the Half-Blood Prince is brought up.

The Slug Club is having another party, a Christmas one, and Hermione was even thinking about asking Ron to join her, before a small squabble squashed the idea. Harry tried to ignore them, but he failed miserably. After they finally shut up, Harry began to think about what it would be like if Ron and Hermione went out and then split up. He was unsure if their friendship would survive it. Oddly enough, for the next few days, Ron and Hermione were kinder to each other than usual.

Katie Bell is still in St. Mungo’s and, even though he didn’t want to replace her, he had no choice but to ask Dean to join for the time being.

Ron and Hermione-wait, no-Ron and Ginny get into a small fight during Quidditch practice, and while hiding his emotions, Harry tried to stop it. Even worse, an even bigger fight breaks out between them after practice. Ginny attacks at Ron’s romantic life, or lack thereof, and Ron storms off. Harry seemed to fade off, trying to rationalize his feelings to Ginny. Brotherly feelings, my ass. Even so, he admits that Ron’s sister is out of bounds, and tries to force himself to ignore these feelings.

Harry has another bad Quidditch practice the day before the game. Ron threatens himself, saying that if the team loses, he will force himself off the team. Nothing Harry would say would change Ron’s decision. After a lot of thinking, he suddenly came up with a bright idea.

The next morning at breakfast, Harry tricked Ron by slipping a little of what everyone thought was his Felix Felicis into Ron’s pumpkin juice. Hermione catches him and she tries to stop Ron from taking a drink from his goblet. She is completely disappointed with him.

All of a sudden, they are on a lucky streak, and it’s real. The weather clears, Malfoy is off the Slytherin team ill, and Ron suddenly realizes that Harry must have slipped him some Felix Felicis. And the match began.

Zacharias Smith was commentating and he’s no Lee Jordan, let me tell you that. Ron’s confidence boosted and he was saving more goals than usual. And the short game came to a close as Harry caught the Snitch in a remarkable fashion to win the match. Gryffindor had won.

Before Harry could get to the celebration in the Gryffindor Common Room, Hermione pulled him aside and scolded Harry for “putting his Felix Felicis into Ron’s goblet.” Harry smiled, having tricked even Hermione. He admitted that he faked putting it in Ron’s goblet. Ron heard this, too, and began gloating to Hermione that he could play, making Hermione angry. Things got worse when Ron and Lavender walked into an empty classroom that contained an Harry and an angry Hermione. Hermione attacked him for being a jerk, and stormed away with a faint sob.
