"'I dreamed I was watching you lot play Quidditch,' Harry lied brutally." -- Oh, snap. I always thought that Harry could verbally eviscerate his friends if he ever got touchy enough -- it's nice to see that suspicion (augmented by his words to Dudley early on) is right. Uhh, I mean Harry is acting inappropriately and hurting his friends to make himself feel better, so being right in my interpretation really doesn't compensate for how mad I am at him. Really.
And this is what happens when you have honor, Harry, you have to teach English to mossy boulder-headed giants. Let that be a lesson.
Hermione doesn't doubt here that trying to get past the centaurs would be a life threatening proposition. I suppose desperation really changes her perspective later.
