Parlophone Is Love

SPECIAL EMERGENCY MUSIC BLOG!!!

I was downtown and decided "Self, if there's a space open about halfway down Main St. I'm gonna go to the record store and buy myself something nice. If not, I'll go do some holiday shopping." Well, guess what? I found the one empty space.

And I scored this:

It's a limited edition singles box set of rare/new imports (Parlophone is a European record label. They handled the Beatles back in the day for awhile). It's even numbered! Mine's 399, I think out of a 1000, but I'm not sure. Here's a little description I found on Bullmoose:

"featuring Blur, Hot Chip, Kylie Minogue, Eliza Doolittle, Tinie Tempah
set of singles released for Record Store Day 2010 in the UK only. Blur- "Fool's Day" first new material in 8 years; Eliza Doolittle- "Pack Up"/"Rollerblades" current UK breakthrough single: Hot Chip--"I Feel Bonnie" (feat. Bonnie 'Prince' Billy)/"Bear Witness (b-side unreleased); Kylie Minogue--"All The Lovers"/"Los Amores"; Tinie Tempah--"Pass Out/"Pass Out (SBTRKT Remix)" The ONLY physical release of the biggest single from the UK's biggest breakthrough artist of 2010."

I basically saw Kylie's name and picked it up immediately to investigate, and then saw Blur [gripping tighter] as well as Hot Chip [death grip] AND IMMEDIATELY proceeded to the register, where I was informed by the store owner of my impeccable taste. He was so excited I bought it, I think he's been waiting since Record Store Day to talk to someone about it!

Anyways, it's very cool, and I'm now an avid fan of Eliza Doolittle as well as Tinie Tempah. Totally awesome.

(Edit: I know no one voted for a music blog...but this was necessary!! Next up: gay books. About the holidays...no seriously I think I'm doing it.)

hot chip, happycore, kylie minogue, blur, music
