Well, I'm really glad I named this little writing project as "Optimism" [original versions on livejournal] because everytime I update it I'm reminded not to feel as low and angry as I feel whenever I'm trying to fall asleep or trying to wake up. Yeah.
Anyways, when last we left off I was in the middle of the insurance phone tag game, getting information to both companies, repeating the same information three or four times to three or four people a day. There is absolutely no communication between insurance companies, I'm pretty sure, and the things they do share with each other need confirmation and verification from me everytime something new shows up. Brilliant.
In fact, right now, the phone is ringing. Luckily we have caller ID and I am not speaking with this particular person, because this particular person is the person who collided with me on Friday. I just can't deal with him myself, I'm constantly scared I'll say something that will discredit my chances at compensation and reembursement (spelling? Whatever).
He seems genuinely concerned and apologetic, but appearances can be misleading. On to the main reason for this update.
The car he was driving is not covered by his insurance. He bought it on December 14th, 2009. The way things work is a new car has a grace period of 30 days after purchase in which your insurance will cover it. HOWEVER, once those 30 days are up, the car must be registered with the insurance agency, or it is not covered. At all. Not even a little bit. Zippo.
The accident happened on the 22nd, and Mirsad failed to update his insurance and register his new car. Ugh. This means that my options are now limited to:
a) Settling with Mirsad outside the court system.
b) Suing Mirsad.
I'm really, really, REALLY hoping we can come to a solution using option a. Otherwise this whole process will explode into months and months of torture and destruction. I'm already breaking out as it is, I don't need this extra stress!
Sigh...
Now on to my second reason for this update. MY BACK FUCKING KILLS!!
Legit, I've been pretty much okay until last night after work. I was trying to fall asleep and all of a sudden BAM my pain level went from a 2 all the way up to an 8. Oh my mother fucking god. I didn't get any sleep, and in all my dreams I seemed to be crippled and hunched over. Legit, it was ridiculous.
I got up around 8am, pretty much done with the ridiculous facade that was me sleeping. I took a muscle relaxant and a couple advil and I'm down to a 5, but ugh, it sucks. Definitely going for my follow-up now. I was going to skip it since I felt mostly fine for the better part of a week, but I think I should really get checked out. Make sure nothing's been pushed around or strained terribly.
Anyways, hope your day is going well, tata.
