Frisky & Mannish
Went to see Frisky & Mannish play at the Bloomsbury last night, as part of Nick's extended-surprise-birthday. I'd knew nothing about them beyond the pretty basic fact that they are a comedy musical duo.
They're brilliant.
I can't possibly describe it well enough to do them justice. Suffice it to say that the duet impersonation of Lily Allen and Noel Cowards was superb, the dialogue between Florence & The Machine and Peter Andre was rib-achingly funny, and I absolutely loved their Newspaper Review song (aka That's Not My Name). Not to mention their pedantry when it comes to other song-writers' grammar - F&M, I salute you!
Also, I want Frisky's voice. The sheer level of control was fabulous, and my god, that woman has a good pair of lungs! Very envious.
Anyway, they are on YouTube. If you haven't heard of them either, go and look them up. Only, they don't really count as worksafe...
