This Christmas
So this week has been crazyness! Finished buying and wrapping presents for the 17 people in my immediate fam. (the breeders really need to give me a break! seriously.) My grandparents on the spermdonars side of the fam were both hospitalized a few days before xmas. Which was crazy. My grandfather passed out at the table and stopped breathing, luckily his nurse was in at the time. The paramedics arrived just in time and were able to get him to start breathing again. He has blood clots in his lungs on top of so many other problems (he is almost 90) they started him on blood thinners and lowered his dosages of other meds that are currently in use such as his meds for parkinsons, alziehmers and various others things he has going on.
My aunt was called in because my grandmother was so weak, she finally was able to get ready and was taken into the hospital. The dr. took one look at her and insisted that she go to the er where they found out that she had a really low blood count and she was hemmoraging. So she was admitted on the same floor just down a hall from my grandfather. Over the course of the next few days they found her ulceration and fixed the problem and she is able to go home today. He however is congested really badly and cannot leave for a while yet.
I went and got my sister the day I found out they were admitted and we made a long overdue visit. I can honestly say I have not really spent anytime with them in close to 10 yrs or so.... They were able to spend Christmas together in the hospital and I know that meant the world to them both. I stopped by again on Christmas Eve on the way to see my immediate fam and gave them both a pair of PJ's which they were both excited to get since they had nothing there but the clothes they wore in and a hospital gown. (I dont understand why no one to brought them basics? like pj's, hair brush, toothbrush? and for my grandmother lotion! the woman swears by it and looks 20 yrs younger than she really is!)
I also wrote them both a note telling them what wonderful people they are and how much they deserve only happiness for their lives. The letter touched my grandfather to the point that he had tears in his eyes and it made me feel amazing to know that he loves me so and my letter meant so much to him.
I spent the rest of the day at moms with the immediate fam., Everyone was having a great time especially lola who had a blast! dinner and wii games and then presents then of course santa came out. Ashlyn has discovered that santa wears her pawpaws shoes. lol.....
T showed up late in the evening and spent a while their, She was so tired that their was no way she was going to make it home. I felt so bad for her that I went online and looked at flights for her to go home but it was nearly 900.00 for her to get a roundtrip and I couldnt afford it. So, luckily for me she stayed home with me and I had a great christmas! A real family christmas with my family. Me, lola and T.
Christmas morning came around and I was awoke by a very excited T who told me to hurry and get up.... lol..... Santa had came!
We let lola out of her room and she ran to the tree spotting the pile of toys on the floor and proceded to pick up each individual toy and hide them! *Laughs*
When she had finished with the pile of toys there was a Giant Mammoth bone waiting for her. Literly. She spent the rest of the day dragging the huge bone from room to room and knawing on it and then eventually hiding it because she was either to tired or to full to chew on it anymore.
I got quite a pile of presents myself! a food processor that I have been dying for forever now! :D
Lots of make-up and a food chopper as well as a gift card to Marshals! my fave store and a new short sleeved sweater and lots of other stuff including the pair of boots that I have adored forever now as well but were so expensive that I could never convince myself it was ok to buy them.
T got lots of goodies too..... tons of candy and boots! A bottle of her so hard to find perfume, a new charm bracelet from the open heart collection at kays. A new drum set for her rockband ps2. and lots of other fun stuff as well.
We spent the day snuggling and loving and eating and went to see Avatar (which btw was AMAZING! its a fairy colony!) in 3d. We discussed seeing it in Imax but I had a serious headache so we decided to just go to the local theater instead of trying to lay in a weird position for hrs. We came home and finished off our day with a Honey Glazed Ham, Candied Yams, Greenbeans and Chedder and bacon au gratin potatoes. A homemade lemon pound cake and lots of love. T wanted to have a dinner party but I just wanted it to be us so we chilled and ate and slept and ate and slept some more. This was exactly what I wanted for christmas and Santa Thank you so much for giving it to me.
