The Tempest - Stratford Shakespeare Festival

Apr 03, 2011 15:07

Unfortunately, I missed this play at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in 2010, so I was thrilled to see that Bravo (Canada) is going to be showing a recorded performance on April 11 from 9-11pm ET.

Here's what the web site says about the show.

The Tempest
Marooned on a distant island with his daughter Miranda Prospero has spend twelve years perfecting his magic arts. Now, with the help of the spirit Ariel, he raises a storm at seas, bringing within his grasp the enemies who robbed him of his dukedom. But what vengeance does he propose to take? Recorded live at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and starring Christopher Plummer.

Besides Christopher Plummer, Geraint Wyn Davies (one of my favourite Canadian actors ... does anyone remember Forever Knight's Nick Knight) is in it.
