Picspam and Weekend Cooking Plans

LOTS and LOTS of pictures below

I have next week off due to exams and a PA day so I'm thinking of going deep into the freezer again for:

Beef - 2 pounds of medium ground beef to be transformed into Jamaican beef patties
Pork - 1 pound of lean ground pork to be made into scotch eggs
Turkey - 1 12 pound turkey whose destiny is yet to be determined. Possibilities include
    a)  grinding together equal parts breast and thigh meat and turning the result into patties/meatballs similar to these Thai basil and mint patties
    b) braising the drumsticks and producing some "chipotle in adobo marinara pulled turkey"
    c) slicing part of the turkey breast into cutlets or into cubes for satay/souvlaki/butter turkey

In the meantime, I've been cooking as always.

Sriracha Shrimp over leftover Arroz con azafran

Sushi

My first caterpillar roll

Even if all you have for the inside of your sushi roll is fake crab legs and an avocado, you can make the outside pretty with a spicy mayo drizzle.

Soju Screwdriver to wash it down with - Soju is a Korean liquor similar to sake

Western-style omelette for breakfast, lunch or dinner - spicy pepperoni sausage and green onions

The omelette fell apart when I went to turn it (haste DOES make waste or at least a mess). This is what it looked liked before I went to turn it.

Dessert - Crepe filled with goat cheese mixed with almond paste (ground almonds and sugar) and topped with vanilla ice cream and cherry sauce

Nibbles - Pear, Canadian brie, and hand sliced prosciutto
