I <3 Jamie Oliver and Gingerbread Men
I usually spend most of my time upstairs in front of the computer with the tv on in the background. However, TODAY, I was actually WATCHING television downstairs and I caught Jamie Oliver's "Comfort" programme on the Canadian Food Network. And I remembered why I loved the man, back when he was "The Naked Chef". The meals he was cooking were amazing ... Osso bucco served over Risotto alla Milanese stands out in my mind. It made me want to start cooking a pot of the risotto at least. Of course, I didn't have any chicken stock nor any white wine.
And then there was a Royal lasagna using crispy duck, a chicken tikka masala, sticky toffee pudding, steak and onion sandwich. It was torture.
Just why was I in the living room, you may ask?
I was rolling out the dough and baking the gingerbread cookies that I had started yesterday. I used Maureen's recipe, of "Orgasmic Chef" blog, which beats the one I had used before by a mile, in terms of flavour, though I may cut back on the sugar if I want to ice my cookies.
