Picspam: End of July Leftovers and "Found" Money

Jul 31, 2014 18:05

I'm clearing out the memory card on my camera of July's pics, so I thought I'd share some meals I've enjoyed this month.

I cooked up the last steak from my freezer and the leftovers went to a couple of different meals, one a bit more elaborate than the other.

Steak and eggs with fried potatoes and hot buttered toast ... breakfast, lunch or dinner ( Read more... )

potatoes, rice, pork, seafood, beef, veggies, japanese, salmon, picspam, fish

I'd go nuts in the produce department-or at the farm market. :P

Oh! Or I'd try to find some Mangalitsa pork!

I had to look up the pork, pork which tastes like beef ... the closest producer in Ontario is near the Ontario/Quebec border. I would be more likely to go for a nice piece of sushi/sashimi grade tuna. Or just go to Red Lobster if I was going for a food item. :)

(From above): Cheese! I didn't even think of cheese!

Oh, tuna-I could do that, too. Shog makes an excellent tuna on the grill (barely seared, pretty much raw in the center, v. tasty).

And so many that I've never tried because I have issues paying 12 bucks for a wee specialty cheese.

What kitchen toys are you thinking of buying? :)

A knife sharpener ... though it seems I'd need to spend a lot more money for that. I may just continue taking my 2 knives to the shop.

I can spend $50 on cheeses without blinking. :)
