Looking for cooking suggestion: While at the market yesterday, I saw a beautiful flat of plump, fresh black mission figs for $10.99. I was tempted to buy it but resisted. I think if they're there next weekend, I'll pick up the flat. What to make with them though. Any ideas?
I've mentioned my love of kitchen gadgets before. However, as long as you use them a few times a year, I think they're worth the money you spent on them. :)
This tabletop
grill/waffle maker (I've actually made waffles in it a few times) earned its place in the cupboard most recently for the four burgers I cooked on it today.

And, along with the sweet potato wedges I baked in the oven, this is the only cooking I did today. Yesterday's
peach and nectarine crumble bars, which I had for dessert after the burger, and
garlic cheddar cheese drop biscuits, were the highlights of this weekend's cooking.
