Poem I wrote for the NYU application

To sleep or not to sleep, that is the question.
Whether to waste long hours of precious life
On senseless slumber, to lie as one dead,
And neither see, nor hear, nor laugh, nor cry;
Or try to steal as many hours from nature
As may be claimed, before the thief is caught?
Thus is a balance struck from inner strife:
Sometimes 'tis rest that wins, but far more often - life!
