seeing a bright light

Today was long and awesome!
I loved being at the rink today for time #2. I got on a bit early so I skated around with a guy named Jeff. He's pretty new to the rink, and I hadn't really had a chance to talk to him much. It was fun b/c he knows nothing of skating and I know little of hockey. So then I taught my lesson and had 45min before classes started. So I kept skating around with Jeff talking, then Ben joined us, then Christina, and sort of Ben's friend. It was nice to be with older people just hanging out on the ice doing nothing but talking and having fun. Then Ben tried to do a back flip off the glass. Luckily he bailed b/c he didn't feel like he was in a good position (ummmm DUH!) He likes trying to learn new stuff to do as Fang the Ice Bats mascot. As all the skaters started to clear the ice, My Chemical Romance's "Black Parade" came on. Ben went and cranked it up and we were all jamming out to it. Ben did this huge knee slide while playing air guitar (a lot easier on ice than a stage). I told them that MCR was going to be in Houston and San Antonio in April. Ben said he boycotts SA and hates Houston, so he wouldn't be going. I told them how much I wanted to go, but couldn't because of the wedding. Turns out Jeff can't go that Saturday either, but he was like "I'm buying a ticket to that Monday show for sure!" After a while I think it hit him that he would be going alone, and said something like "I gotta find somebody else to go." I was totally excited! I just looked at him and told him I'd totally go. I'm so excited! Nothing is set in stone yet, so it may not happen, but just the thought of now being able to go see my favorite band with a new friend is awesome. I'm also going to see if Sheri wants to go. She likes them too, and she doesn't mind skipping class or going when she's tired, so she probably won't mind an evening/night trip to SA.
So this whole afternoon/night at the rink was the best time I've had there in a long while =). Today was just filled with fun, and guys. It makes me realize how much I miss my guy friends from AHS. My entire spanish group is getting pretty close. Soon it's going to be hard to do any work. I mean today we worked outside on listening to Ricky Martin songs and guessing the lyrics. The entire time one of the guys just kept trying to put his arm around his friend anytime it mentioned love or being alone. It was soooo funny. Yay fun! Plus I have 4 friends in my first class who are totally awesome!
Tomorrow I have to receive an apology from my Metz kid. He's been exceedingly rude to me, and got in big trouble for it. I feel bad for him in a way, but that just shouldn't happen, especially to someone who is volunteering their time.
Tonight I get to read...after dinner. Long days normally suck, buy my last 2 have been great!
(p.s. what's with the ecstatic hamster looking like he's madly in love? weird lj)
