I mean we all knew they weren't going to die in the car anyway, so for me the whole scene was neither here nor there.
And I also don't like the "two part event" eps that much and I agree that "preventing WWIII" was a bit too much for a show like Castle. This isn't 24. It shouldn't be that serious. I definitely prefer the more lighthearted eps of the show.
As for Sophia, she was a bitch and I was glad she was the unsub (I use that word for every crime show I watch LOL). Her whole conversation with Beckett made me cringe, like, really? We're gonna take 6 steps back AGAIN? So frustrating. AT LEAST at the end of the ep, Beckett said something to the effect of "Sophia told a lot of lies" which I think means she is discrediting whatever Sophia had to say about her "relationship" with Castle. I just don't get how Jennifer Beals can say that her character "wasn't coming between Castle and Beckett". Um, she clearly was trying to. Though not because she wanted Castle, just because she was a bitch. Idek.
Just put them together Marlowe. I've been frustrated throughout most of the season regarding Caskett. I would say maybe we'll see something in the season finale, but I probably shouldn't hold my breath.
Hah, yes, I've adopted unsub for every show too. They just upped the scale of the events into the unbelievable, and as the last ep of Sherlock pointed out, to sell a big lie you need to wrap it around a whole of little truths which they failed to do.
Sophia was walking cliche, and the actress did a pretty bad job. I just couldn't buy her in any way. Your icon really sums it up perfectly.
I have to say I'm uncomfortable with your use of "bitch" in your comment though.
