“Immortal! His lover is immortal! How did he dare to withhold this from me?! Mei Yi will pay for this. Both will!” Evrard fumed with petulant rage.
“Mei Yi has disappeared.” Evrard turned to his Familiar, his rage subsided a little. “Even the Reaper couldn’t find his trace. But he will crawl back to me, whining and kowtowing after he finds out what I have done to his lover.” Twisted smile played upon his lips as he explained his plans to the woman.
“I saw the memories of the immortal. That was ... interesting. I saw his mother and the feelings he tries to suppress... that marvelous contradiction. I want you to go to her and play the role of her mother, Sarkan. Tell him sweet lies but also awake his suspicion. Oh yes, I want you to bring the poisonous drops delusion and madness into his ear. The immortal will cease to be himself and survives as a living corpse when I will have finished with him. I will take not only his money, blood but also his soul. And then Mei Yi will come back to me as well. Not that it would save his lover, but the slave might even enjoy sharing his lover’s fate.”
He gave a dismissive gesture. “Go now, and prepare yourself. I’ll take care of the lovely Tess till then.”
