You Get To Burning

Last night I attended a seminar thing organized by the computer science society regarding co-op. There were tips on job interviews, and people related their experiences with the co-op program. I had no idea that the work available varied so widely. One girl did some work on realtime systems for video processing and another guy is working for the NRC on an AI data mining application. Pretty hott. As ill as all the tips and stories were, I won't lie about the fact that I was really there for the free pizza. It was good, ohhh yes it was. To top it all off I ended up sticking around talking to people after almost everyone had left, and they gave me a pizza. They had ordered too much, and it needed a good home. Who am I to

I had a calculus assignment due today. I came right home after class and started working on it. I was so hasty and full of mathematical rage that I stood Cindy up (I'M SORRY CINDY! I'LL MAKE IT UP TO YOU I SWEAR! ANYTHING YOU WANT, JUST SAY THE WORDS!) at lunchtime. That part sucked, but at least I ended up getting most of it done, and... I think I even did it right. I guess that part is up to the TAs.

It's all great until it's 15 minutes before it's due, and I'm walking happily toward Herzberg patting myself on the back until I realize... the assignment is not in my bag. So... I go home and get it, and by the time I'm back on campus I've missed half my internet applications exam review lecture. I go to Herzberg... the box for assignments is empty, and the lights are on in the office, but nobody's home... So I go to class. Listen to some shit about XML DTDs fall asleep, wake up, class is over. Ugh. I walked with my internet apps prof to Herzberg and ventured back to the land of math, where, to my delight my calc prof was there. He accepted my assignment. He didn't even yell at me or anything. He just gave me a look like "You interrupted my angry sounding german phone conversation for THIS?" I couldn't have been happier.

I hung out with Morrison (internet apps prof) for a bit and talked about the merits of analyis (real and functional) and eventually headed home. Home, home where my bed and things are.

I downloaded the anime series Martian Successor Nadesico (in its entirety, go bit torrent) a few days ago and I've been trying to pace myself and make it last. Today was a major failure in that department. I got home and hit up my RSS feeds then spent the next couple hours watching Nadesico and talking on MSN. Wow, what a good series. I think it's probably the most entertaining one I've seen. It's got a good plot, good characters, and a good mix of comedy, action, drama, romance, etc. Good good good good good. So good, that I forgot to eat supper.

Watching Nadesico is bringing back my feeble oral comprehension of Japanese. Makes me want to learn the language and visit Japan again. I guess I'll go somewhere else first. Even that is some pretty wild ass speculation though. Damn debt and school... Bah.

MUST EAT AND SLEEP. BEN OUT.
