Donohoe is the fellow who played Caliban in Tempest, yes?
I remember thinking "He's really good but something about him annoys the hell out of me."

I don't know if he did. Tall, wiry, pale, ginger-haired actor? Not that makeup can't change most of that.

Indeed he is! I'm sorry you found him annoying. I found him fabulous. :D I'd really love to see him in something else, just for the comparison.

And that's the frustrating thing--I can watch him and see that technically he's good! And obviously so, given the roles they trust to him. (I've seen him as Caliban and Iago, and have tickets for Hamlet.) I do recommend you look for him if/when you get back.

I'm very interested to see what you think of Hamlet, both for Mr. D's rendition, but the whole production. There were a couple of less than stellar performances in the ensemble (yeah, everyone's a critic), but overall, I thought it was fabu.

So yeah ... can't wait to hear what you think!

Hamlet is one of my favorites, but I apparently have odd tastes. The Gibson/Zefirelli film is one of my favorite productions, but I did have a few good words for Branagh's production. I *adore* R&G are Dead, and even Strange Brew.
