And no, I'm not talking about the ridiculous branding change the Sci-Fi Channel made to SyFy ... or whatever it is now. See, it's so bad, my mind shies from the horror.
No, what I'm talking about is the actual science fiction genre, and the fact that at least 80% of the agents and editors signed up to do advanced critiques of manuscripts at the Willamette Writers Conference are NOT interested in reviewing or representing science fiction.
Did the genre fall out of favor when I wasn't looking? Is there a glut of it on the market? Is it not selling? What's up?
Our MS isn't SF, but it has SF elements ... so my brain went "Bwa-huh?" Like you do.
Any insights out there?
