Random Thoughts

-- There's something pretty nice about being purred further awake by your cat, especially if it's at the appropriate time of the morning, and you've been awake for ten minutes already but not wanting to get out of bed. The being pinned by pin-pricking paws and having the obligatory facial, however, I could do without.

-- It's pretty darn cool that the neighborhood ducks are back this year ... and that people are waiting for them to cross the street. The fowl have wings ... why don't they fly across the street so as to lessen the risk factors?

-- An afternoon lunch break of writing horribly uninspired prose in the sunshine, is always better than an afternoon lunch break without either the sunshine or the prosing.

-- Two black labs, frolicking around first thing in the morning, can be counted as a thundering herd as they send their boundless energy down the stairs toward their biscuit box.

-- As witnessed several times yesterday down on Alki Beach, both men and women will turn their head to follow the progress of an attractive/sexy woman jogging past them, but no one turns their head to follow the sexy men.

-- A week-off from walking in no way prepares you for six miles the next time, even with stretching like a fiend.

-- Hot cocoa and chai are not adequate substitutes for a triple grande soy latte in the morning. Oddly, though, a tall soy latte is. I guess it's the content not the quantity.

-- The unexpected triple blossoms of a white, bearded iris in my garden is both a surprise and a gift.

I think that's all the randoming I had stored up in my brain during the last 24 hours. Thank you for your kind indulgence.
