The shadows of the past are notoriously difficult to outrun, but it can be done. Your old life may chase you, but you are in the embrace of your new one now. No one is going to take that away from you.

If he tries, he'll end up in prison. I know that the big downside there is the trying part... but you're doing everything right. You don't walk alone, you have your security system and your dogs, friends who'll look after you, and know immediately if something's wrong.

We'll make sure that nothing dire comes to pass.

He's just so good at getting what he wants, and I keep wondering if there's something we've forgotten because we don't think like maniacs...

Well, some of us have dealt with our fair share of maniacs... not to mention we have a doctor in the house. I think we have a pretty good chance of predicting what he's going to do.
