why hello there
hmm... what does one write in their first post to LJ anyway? i guess that was rhetorical, because common sense says that i should talk a bit about myself, so here goes:
for as long as i can remember, i've loved to read. and if you're familiar at all with regency novels, you can probably tell that i'm a huge regency romance buff. georgette heyer is one of my favorite authors! but i love a range of genres. i'm actually a sucker for the action-adventure, techno-thriller, fantasy, mystery novels as well. writers like James Rollins, Lincoln Child and Douglas Preston are my guilty pleasures!
i also say that i like to write, but the truth is that i haven't really actually written anything in a long time. or rather, i find that i don't know what to write about anymore, and so i envy people who seem to be bursting with ideas. even if i read something that i don't like.. if i come across something that has problems with grammar and structure, weak plots with loose ends and poor characterization, i can't help but envy the writer for their creativity and bravery. it takes a lot to be able to share something so personal and so much a part of you with others... something i'm not able to do yet. but hopefully someday! which i guess is one of my reasons for joining LJ. i'm guilty of having lurked around LJ reading fanfics and thinking of how there are so many awesome writers out there. and so maybe someday i'll be able to put something of mine out there too!
ok.. so, another reason i joined LJ is for all the communities here. what can i say? i just want to read manga! haha
