dandelions
sun-shaped slice of lemon
warm rays of sun
and blinding halo
once blue.
hard wind and heavy rain
i had no clue
about life.
i knew
few things -
cold coffee, jazz,
excruciating emptiness
once grey.
last cigarette,
ashtray
of thoughts
i was astray
i was alone and independent
self-betray and get away
once red.
in love and hate.
my heart was spread
on thin layers of nerves.
believe me,
all the books i've read
made sence
since i was feeling mad
and desperate.
i was half dead
i wouldn't want to end with that.
once white.
plain happiness of being
together.
i was right
reflections of electric light at night
give hope
to streets and highways.
