Well, super-late for work tonight!
Thanks to myke_minstar for phoning me @ 22:15 to say,
"WHERE THE HELL ARE U? I'M ALL ALONE AND THEY WON'T STOP CALLING!!!!"
I think I heard him sobbing too.
Curses to my hand that automatically reaches out and turns off my alarm when it bleeps, rather than hitting snooze.
So that was a good start. Had some fine days off, hit lv.23 with Cinnamon Flame, my fire/dev blaster, got both winter event badges, um, got to lv.5 of 4swords+, and just started chain of memories. So, quite productive i'm sure you'll agree, if u know what any of that means.
Started a new book, thank u killrockstar. Gotta start reading more at work, rather than just surfing the internet for 10hrs. It can't be good for my eyes to stare at this disgusting filth for so long. Maybe I should just go to a website other than livejournal.
The delectable ms vampybat kept me entertained, with a weekend of highs and lows, always keeping me on my toes. So, big hugs to her. x
Well, after my announcement a while ago, on my decision to retire the major components of N3WD-R3WD-D3WD, i'm sure you're all desperate to know about the status of my deck.
I am happy to report that "Zinger" is happily whirring away, even after the Grüber incident, and is running City of Heroes almost constantly. Team America came down perfectly, and is mildly amusing.
For anyone who cares, or for people who like reading the specs of other people's machines :
P4 2.4GHz S478 533MHz w/512KB L2 cache
MSI Mainboard (can't remember model) w/onboard 5.1sound, 100/10 ethernet, IDE RAID 0/1
1024MB DDR 333MHz PC2700
ATi Radeon 7500LE w/64MB DDR
120GB HDD IDE 133
17GB HDD IDE 66
10GB HDD IDE 66
NEC 2510A 8x DL DVD R/RW IDE
Creative Dxr2 2x DVD-ROM IDE
uuh, I think that's it. The Radeon7500LE is kinda sucky, a little better than the GeForce2 I was running initially, but i'm looking at getting a Radeon 9800Pro soon, so that should bump me up into the world of running Doom3 in an ok-ish sort of a way :)
All the upgrades cost about £200, with the new gfx card looking to be another ~£100, not bad, probably could've gotten a better mobo w/800MHz FSB, but i like the RAID, and the S478. The new 775 P4's are too hot, and the AMD64's are a little too expensive.
I might buy a new case too, as at the moment, this is all contained within a razor-sharp, death-trap of a case.
*** a9 SAFETY NOTICE ***
When you see cases for sale for £50, you say,
"Yegads! That's expensive for a case!". But, when you then see a case for £11.75, your reaction should not be,
"BUYITBUYITBUYITBUYITBUYIT", but rather,
"Hmmmm, I wonder if there's a reason the other one is £50."

Yes well, this is not the first horror purchase i've ever made, and i doubt it'll be the last. But I think it's the only one that will ever mortally wound me. (It's fucking sharp ok!)
Well, apart from all that, not too much has been happening. I think we're getting low on milk again?
