Um, sorry for the noob question, but what do you mean, certificate you a berry15 for ruins11...?

If you certificate a card and then trade it, you'll still be elligable for a no-certificate mastery badge.

So, by that, you'd use your c-cert on a berry15 and I'd trade you ruins11. Meaning, none of us used a certificate.
