I've been off LJ for the past week not really by choice - my router kept dropping the line making it incredibly frustrating to do anything.
But I'm back and I bring you interesting links to a series of articles that I recently read.

One of the things that angers me about people who wish to ban late term abortions is their insulting assumption that a woman who is past 20 weeks wakes up one day, says "holy shit, I'm pregnant, got to get rid of that thing". Late term abortions are heartbreaking, agonizing decisions and I have no doubt they will be outlawed within a year.
The difficulties of goting to college when your family is poor.
This article is a real eye opener. It's not enough to send a poor kid to college - they need an incredible amount of support in order to make it through. Written by a student, it puts the lie to the myth that poor kids don't make it because they don't work hard enough.
