So, I mentioned a while back that Aaron is planning to go a graduate degree in biotech next fall. In preperation for that, he needs to take some undergraduate bio classes, since he'a mechanical engineer with pretty much no biology background.
He's currently taking biochem at Harvard night school.
Things he did not fully realize.
1. The class is actually part of a two year intensive program and everyone else is pre-med. IE, crazy people who will kill for a hundreth of a point.
2. Bio, unlike physics, is all memorization. If you know all the basic formulas in physics, you can figure evrything out. Nothing builds on anything in bio. And Aaron finds memorization boring.
3. Since biochem is not the first class an undergradutae bio major would take, Aaron often has to first do additional studying since the class assumes knowledge that he doesn't have.
Plus he's working full time at a very demanding job.
He recently got his midterm back and got a B! I am so proud of him. (And he was pleased himself._
