Obviously, I haven't posted about Bones in a long time. But I'm back with
Before I talk about this episode, I want to talk briefly about the prior two episodes.
First, the 9-11 one.
Why can't they all be this good? I though that was a perfect blend of comedy and drama, everyone was wonderfully in character and I was really moved by the end. I think it's easy to do a very bad job when dealing with this particular (very sensitive) topic, but I never felt like I was being manipulated. And I liked Brennan going all crazy basketball coach. Once she decides something, she goes for it 100%.
Now the following one was so incredibly non-memorable that I have absolutely no recollection of what the hell the plot was. What I want to discuss is the stupidity of the Cam/Arastoo romance.
1. Cam says she's breaking it off with the doctor because he's Michelle's gyno. She's been dating this guy a year and all of a sudden, she's grossed out? (Plus didn't she have Michelle switch doctors as soon as they started dating?)
2. The romance is so out of the blue, that it's purple. There have been exactly zero indications that either of them had feelings for the other.
3. I have always, always disliked the tv trope that the only people the characters on the show seem to know is the other characters on the show. Cam dating someone else opened up the show a little. This just makes it more claustrophobic.
AS far, as this weeks's show, I thought it was kind of meh.
I liked Fisher being soem kind of weird king of comedy. To the post ironic generation, I could see him being very popular.
I liked Booth getting in the grove when he told his own jokes. That was cute.
I hated the Angela storyline, partly because it would have been so easy to turn it into something interesting. I could easily believe that Angela would worry that she has no time to pursue serious art any more because of her role as a wife and mother. However, to imply that somehow becomming a parent robs you of your creative spark and reduces you to drawing rainbow unicorns is just dumb.
So, that's all I've got, how about you?
