Fic Recs: Angel/Buffy/Minus
Time for another juicy batch of fic recs. One of my favorite type of stories are Angel/Buffy stories where one of them doesn't appear. They're not in the picture and yet, the story still says something about the relationship.
As it so happens, chrisleeoctaves appears to also share my kink in this, so Chris, these are for you. Hopefully, one or two of these will be new to you. And if anybody out there knows additional stories in this "genre", please rec away. There can never be enough great fic imo.
Sea Change by Yahtzee
Angel/Lindsey NC-17. After Buffy's death in season 5, Angel takes a slow boat to Tibet. The last person he has any desire to see is also on the boat. Perfect imagined. pitch perfect dialog, fits so easily into canon that I wouldn't be surprised if this is what happened. If you only read one of my recs, read this one. I have read a lot of storied dealing with Angel's feelings after Buffy's death, but the scene on the bridge with Angel's pain, heartbreak and utter despair is the best I've ever read. It completely guts me every time.
The Quality of Mercy by Yahtzee
Angel, Riley PG-13. Takes place after Epiphany. When Angel stated that if there is no bigger meaning, then the smallest act of kindness - is the greatest thing in the world it didn't occur to him that the first person he would need to show that to would be Riley.
Echoes by Kita
Angel/Faith NC-17. Angel and Faith grieve and try to come to terms after Buffy's death in the gift. There is no better Angel writer than Kita.
Two Steps Back by Mer
Buffy/Wes NC-17. Wes comes back to Sunnydale early in season 7, in an AU fic where he and Buffy hook up even though both want someone else.
The Mermaids Singing by Trixiefirecracker
Buffy, Wes PG-13. Futurefic. Wes brings news to a recently widowed Buffy. As always, Trix's work is incredibly sensual.
Blissful Deceit by Maren
Buffy/Wes PG-13. Buffy and Wes on the run from themselves and each other.
Mirror by Maren
Buffy/Nina NC-17. They are more alike than they realize.

Buffy/The Immortal NC-17. The Immortal wants to know, so Buffy tells him.

Angel/Spike NC-17. Angel wants Spike to demonstrate all the things he did with Buffy. Very, very hot.

Angel/Other PG. Angel knows if he opens the package, he have to start accepting.
Your Skin is My Canvas by Chrislee
Angel/Other NC-17. Angel finds it hard to care. Warning - very dark.
Pentimento by Lostakasha
Angel/Xander NC-17. Angel may be human now, but he's still a vampire of other people's emotions.
