Dead copper theories
I was just thinking about some theories I've read about, and there's something I was wondering about...
There are some theories about the dead copper being in fact Gene. I agreed with that point of view until I thought of the last episode of the first season. After her parent's accident, little Alex is brought to the police station by Gene. This, obviously, happened in the "real" 1981, so Gene must have been alive at that moment - and be the one we know, not a young copper. Did Alex just convince herself it was Gene who took her hand after the accident? Was he really there at that moment? And if so, can he really be that dead copper?
