Guess who's back from vacation! Crowley PINpoints to his flat, suitcase in hand, and throws open the door. "Honey, I'm home," he calls, although he doesn't really expect anyone to be there. It's late, so Aziraphale's probably already taken care of the plants and the cat. Oh well. He's got some gift-giving to do.

For Victor, there's an Aztec Read more... )

Azi answers on the second ring, rattling off a standard "so sorry, we're closed" message before letting Crowley get a word in edgewise. You can almost smell the tea over the phone.

Crowley laughs. "I know you're closed. I'm back. Thought you might want to know."

"Oh! Welcome home." He smiles into the phone, even if Crowley can't see it. "How was your trip?"

"Apart from the bit where I PINpointed into the Nexus? Uneventful. I have presents." He grins. "Should I bring them over to your place, or would you rather come here?"

"I can be over in a tic. The shop's a bit of a mess today, I'm afraid. There was a rare books auction..."

And that's all he says. What more is necessary?

Crowley grins again. "I'll be waiting, then. Should I start some tea?"

"That'd be lovely, thank you. See you soon."

Crowley hangs up and goes to start the tea, then. Maurice comes into the kitchen to investigate and rubs against Crowley's legs, purring loudly. "I missed you too," Crowley tells the kitty. "And did Aziraphale take care of you?"

The kitty meows and stretches, clawing at Crowley's trousers. "Hey, stop that." He reaches down and picks the kitty up. "You behave."

Azi is indeed there in a tic, for given values of 'tic'. In any event, there's a knock on the door just around when he should be arriving.

"It's open," Crowley calls, slightly muffled by fur. He's battling with the kitty. Maurice has Crowley's nose clasped between his paws, and Crowley's tickling Maurice's tummy.

Azi lets himself in, then, hanging up his coat before Crowley can see it. If he keeps collecting tartans like this, he's going to have to start inventing them.

"It's me, dear. I brought some crumpets. I was going to get scones but they were out of the kinds you like."

At the sound of Aziraphale's voice, Maurice releases Crowley's nose and is off like shot to say hello. "Crumpets sound lovely," Crowley says, following Maurice at a rather more dignified pace. "It's good to be home."

"I'll bet it is. Hello again Maurice." Azi gives Crowley the bakery box, then picks Maurice up. "I'm not here to feed you, if that's what you're thinking."

Maurice bats at Azi's face and meows, as if to say "What do you mean, you're not here to feed me? Why else would you be here?"

Crowley takes the box back into his kitchen and sets up for tea. "How's the dust doing?"

Azi laughs at the batting, scritching behind Maurice's ears as he follows Crowley into the kitchen. "It misses you."

"I'm sorry to hear that. I imagine it's just pining away, sighing my name and drawing hearts in itself," Crowley teases.
