Okay, school. Crazy. I spent 2 hours taking notes on Us History and NSL readings today. Gah. I can't even believe that I'm updating, but yeah. Crazy... and awesome. I have alot to be happy for. Anyways I'm mostly posting this cause it was a pain for me to write up so I though I'd sae everyone in Ms. Lee's biology class the trouble.
The Temperature of Water in Cups
Problem: Which of the following types of water will change its temperature the fastest… ice water, hot water, or cold water.
Hypothesis: If I use cold water, it will change faster to room temperatures than the other two types of water.
Materials: Styrofoam cups, ice, water, thermometers
Procedure:
1. Measure the temperature of the air in the room and record. (25 degrees Celsius)
2. Fill a cup halfway with ice water. Stir the water gently with the thermometer for 30 seconds, then record the temperature on your data chart. Do this every 2 minutes for 12 minutes.
3. Fill a cup halfway with hot water and repeat step 2.
4. Fill a cup halfway with cold water and repeat step 2.
5. Graph your results. You will have 3 lines on your graph.
