“So … how is the preparation going? You’ve got the success team for your campaign?” Sungmin asked while leaned her body on the headboard of the bed. It was another round of their chatting in the phone for this week, since the chairman of student council elections will take place next week and Kyuhyun felt his head would explode and need someone to talk.

“It … went well.”

“What’s with ‘it went well’, Kyu?” She knew he was lying. He sounded not sure about his answer. “You haven’t got the success team yet?” There was a silence; the thing that she could hear was only his breathing sound. “Kyuhyun … are you still there?”

“Yes. I’m still here.” He answered with a little bit surprised. “I just … well, you’re right.” She heard him sigh to the phone. “So … I’m right.” She thought. “I haven’t got the team success yet. Well, there are some people who has promise will support me and chose me in the election actually. Like Changmin, Jonghyun, Minho and maybe … you want to support me, Min.”

She felt her heart was beating rapidly at the last word that he said, “He wanted me to support him.” She thought. She thought her heart will explode in minute and chose to hug his Kyukyu-the bunny doll that Kyuhyun gave her last month-to soothe her heart beat.

“Of course, I’ll support you. And I’m surely will chose you in the election. Don’t worry, Kyu. You have my voice.” If only Kyuhyun could see how red her face when she said those words.

“Thank you, Min. How I wish you could be my team success. But I know you don’t want other student think about you weird, suddenly get into my team success. Even Ryeowook didn’t get into my team success.”

Disappointment was evident on his voice, she knew it. And she felt bad about it, “I’m sorry, Kyu. You don’t know how I wanted to be part of your team successes. But it’s just; I don’t think you will need me. You’re popular, smart, you have so many friends. Even some senior tried to get your attention.” She explained. She wished he wouldn’t think that she was kind of protective friend, because actually, she was jealous every time she saw him surrounded by the girls.

“Are you jealous?”

“What?” She blushed furiously; good think Kyuhyun couldn’t saw her face. “N-no … I-I’m not. I’m not jealous.” She stuttered. She hugged her bunny doll even more and hid her face on it.

“You’re not good at lying, Lee Sungmin.” She could tell that now he was smirking in victory. “Tell me you’re jealous. Besides, who said I don’t need you? I need you, more than anyone else. You’re the one who always supporting me and stand beside me. When I have difficult time and need some support, you’re always there, Min. Listen to my never ending complaints about this and that. Thank you.” Kyuhyun said in sincerity.

The warmness crept all her heart and she felt like she want to hug the man if he was right in front of her. “It’s nothing, Kyu. I’m happy to always there beside you, listen to your complaint. I’m happy you trust me.” She smiled. “To be honest, yes, I’m jealous. I don’t like the way those girl looking at you. I could say that they’re all like you. Especially that Victoria girl, she is your senior right?”

“Yes, she was Changmin’s friend. One day, she was coming with Changmin in lunch time, then, he introduced her to me.”

“Oh well, no wonder she got close to you. I didn’t know you like noona, Kyu.” She teased. “But scratch that, that’s not what I want to talked about.” Little did she know, Kyuhyun was smiling in the other lines. “It’s about the look that those girls gave to you. They somehow, thirst for fame. They wanted your fame and that’s why they got close to you.”

“I know it, Min. I realized that.” He heaved a sigh. “To be honest, I’m tired. I always want to sit together with you and Ryeowook when the lunch time, but I always ended up sitting with those annoying girl with Changmin. I can’t help it. You and Ryeowook always sitting with your classmate and that’s a big no for me to but in.”

She chuckled at her statement, “Hey, what’s so funny?” He whined. “I was right, right? Besides I prefer spending the lunch time with you, just the two of us.” Again, he made her blushed and her heart was going crazy.

“Let’s just stop about this election and fame thing. It made my head hurts.” He suddenly said. She laughed softly at his words, and he swears, that was the most beautiful sound he had ever heard.

“You are exaggerating this, Kyu.” She nonchalantly said.

“What are you doing now?” He exchanged the topic. “Have you eaten?”

“I’m talking to you right now, Kyu. It’s obvious.” She chuckled. “Yes, I have. Mom cooked pasta tonight. Do you want some? I can bring it to you tomorrow.”

“I want!” He said, too excited. “Let’s eat in Music Hall. It’s been a long time we’re not spending our time in there. Besides, I’m bored for spending our lunch time in rooftop.”

There was something that she really wanted to ask to Kyuhyun, but she never found the right time or she forgot. “But Kyu, I’m curious about something. Why do you want we spend our lunch time together, just the two of us? We can eat with Ryeowook and Yesung in canteen together. Though you rarely eat with us, but every time I promise you to cook something, you always want to eat it in other place.” She asked. She really wanted to know the reason why Kyuhyun always do that. Not because she hates it, it just made her curious.

Sungmin didn’t realize that her question has made Kyuhyun lost his words. The actual reason he do it was because he wanted to spend more time with Sungmin. He wanted to know Sungmin more. If there were Ryeowook and Yesung, he couldn’t get this close to Sungmin.

“It’s because …” Kyuhyun was walking back and forth around his room, trying to give Sungmin a reasonable excuse. “It’s because … I feel like it. It’s quiet if there’re just the two of us. And I don’t want to share my lunch with people.” He laughed.

“You’re selfish, Kyu.” Kyuhyun, in the other line, could felt that Sungmin was pouting right now. It was driving him crazy by the time they spend their time together. If only Sungmin know how badly he wanted to taste those lips, if only Sungmin know how badly he wanted to hug her body.

“Yes, I’m selfish. Because you’re mine.”

Sungmin couldn’t hide her smile whenever she remembered his conversation with Kyuhyun. He always said those things that could make her heart beat faster, as if it would explode any time. Things that could make her face reddened like tomato. Things that could make her smiling all day like a stupid person. Those things had made Sungmin fell for Kyuhyun than before.

She was thankful that she could spend her time with Kyuhyun during school. Though there weren’t much. But she quietly prayed that Kyuhyun would have the same feeling like her. That Kyuhyun would like her too, as much as she likes him.

She was waiting Kyuhyun in the Music Hall like he promised last night. She hummed some song while playing with the piano. She took a glance to her lunch box and couldn’t wait for Kyuhyun to come.

20 minutes had passed, but Kyuhyun haven’t come yet. Sungmin started to worry and was about to send him a text message when her phone rang. Kyuhyun’s name was showed up in the monitor.

“Hello, Kyuhyun. Where are you?” She couldn’t hide her worriedness when Kyuhyun called her.

“Sungmin, I’m sorry. I couldn’t go to Music Hall right now. I have a sudden meeting with the council about the next election.” He reasoned.

“Oh, I see. It’s okay, Kyu. Maybe we can eat together next time.” She tried to hide his disappointed but failed as Kyuhyun catch her disappoint tone.

“I’m really sorry, Sungmin. I don’t expect that the meeting will be held right now.”

“It’s okay, Kyu. Really, don’t mind me.”

“Let’s have a lunch in Kona Beans this Saturday? How’s it?”

Sungmin smiled at his sincerity to make it up for her, “You don’t need to do that. I’m okay with that. I understand you’re busy for preparing the election.” She paused for a while. “Ehm … Have you eat, Kyu?”

“I haven’t. I don’t have a time to buy food. Maybe I’ll just eat after the meeting.”

“You should eat, Kyu.” She said, as if she was his girlfriend. “You can get sick if you didn’t eat. Should I buy you some snack?”

“No, Sungmin. You don’t need to do that. I’m fine.” He tried convincing her. Suddenly one of his council friends tapped his shoulder, gave him sign that the meeting will be starting soon. “Sungmin, I think we must end our call. The meeting will start soon.”

“Ah … okay then. We’ll talk later, Kyu. Bye.”

“Bye.”

She sighed and looked at the untouched lunchbox. “Now, what should I do with you?” A growling sound then came from her stomach. “I think I’ll just eat you.”

That night, after she finished took a bath, she sat on her bed while staring on her phone. “No text message from Kyuhyun?” She mumbled.

It was a lie if she said she didn’t feel disappointed. When he called her and said couldn’t come to Music Hall this afternoon, it made her sad. It’s been a week since their lunch time together. They still eat together along with Ryeowook and Yesung sometime, but it was different. The time that they spend when they were alone, it was special. She cherished it like she cherished the moment with her family.

“Let’s just sleep then.” She put her phone on the bed and walked towards the light switch. She was going to turn off the light when suddenly her phone rang. She was shocked when saw the caller was Kyuhyun.

“Kyuhyun.” She gretted him in happy tone, forget to say hello first.

“Hi, Min. Haven’t sleeps yet?”

“I’m going to sleep just now, but then you’re calling. It’s okay by the way. It’s still early.” She smiled, happy because Kyuhyun finally called him.

“Min …” There was a pregnant pause between them and it made Sungmin nervous. “I’m at outside your house.” It needs 1 minute to Sungmin to register what Kyuhyun had said.

“WHAT?” She abruptly got up and opened her curtain window. Only got shocked when saw Kyuhyun standing right in front of her house while leaning to his car.

He waved his hand before continue to speak, “Mind to going here?” He smiled.

“Wait there. I’ll going down in seconds.” She hanged up her phone and hurriedly took her sweater. She quietly made her way to the front door and closed it carefully.

“Hi …” She greeted him. She realized that he still in his uniform, explaining that he just back from school. “Kyu, don’t tell me you have just back from school?” She worriedly asked.

“Yes.” He said with a weak smile. “I need to prepare a lot of things for election. So the council chose to work overtime.”

“Oh, Kyu. You must be tired.” She put her hands on both of his arms and rubbed it slowly. Wished could ease his tiredness.

“Sungmin, can you do me a favor?” He stared her deeply. She only nodded, “Can you hug me now?”

Sungmin was taken aback by Kyuhyun wishes. “Am I dreaming right now?” She thought. She was in dazed when suddenly she felt Kyuhyun wrapped his arms around her body.

“K-Kyuhyun …” She felt her face was hot and she scared if Kyuhyun would hear her heart beat because she swears she could hear it beating so loud.

“Just stay like this for a while.” He said softly as he buried his face on crook of her neck. She was nervous, but she realized Kyuhyun was tired and he needed someone to hug him. She hugged him back and rubbed his back slowly, smiling on the process.

“I’m here, Kyu.”

She wished the time would stop and they could stay forever like this.
