After a few hours of residing in an establishment with his sister and other individuals, he finally leaves town to get some time alone. In two weeks, he will apparently be gone, and remember none of these events. Does it mean he should be able to cope with the pain more easily? The fact that he still feels like lashing out and screaming in anguish - is it a sign of weakness?
Gaara wanders around restlessly, impulsively deciding to head into the desert without a set destination in mind. Even though this terrain can be dangerous for the unprepared, he has always felt comfortable in that particular type of setting. The sand shifts on the ground nearby his feet, responding to the call of his innate power, despite the lack of conscious commands.
He stops at one point to just stand in place and stare off into the distance. The night is cold and barren, sending a sharp gust of icy wind to swirl around him, eliciting an involuntary shiver. Nevertheless, his mind is on much more important matters at that very moment. The distressed ninja intends to remain as isolated as possible for a few days, to keep people safe from himself. With a hair-trigger temper and a somewhat volatile demeanor, he doesn’t know how he would respond to others.]

[ It's really bad to spot your friends at the midst of their breaking point Ishtar couldn't help but noticing him. She was concerned after their talk. A serious one at it after his return. She knew that there were a lot of things that bothered Gaara and he couldn't fully display them but right now he looked mighty miserable.
The least she could do was offer him some form of comfort beyond what she had already given him. She wanted to check up on him and make sure he was okay. She wasn't thinking about the danger that she might be putting herself into right now. ]
Gaara?
[ her usual tone as she approached. ]

...?
[Gaara closed his eyes and began to mumble incoherently.]
It's going to happen to us as well... The closer you are to someone, the greater the pain...
[He trailed off, his demeanor seeming dazed and unfocused. The sand rolled over and over in the desert, endless waves that kept lifting clouds of dust.]

[ She knew he hadn't noticed her yet but that didn't stop her from approaching him but with caution of course. She didn't need to scare him or something. He just didn't look well right now. ]
...Gaara?
[ She mused again taking a couple of steps forward. She watched the sand and clearly that stuff looked highly dangerous. She would not want to be hit by it... ]

He opened his eyes, and turned his head back just enough to see who was approaching him.
Ishtar.
He had told her not to stay alone. Why didn't she listen to him? Didn't she know how dangerous he was? His damn cursed existence. Her defiance made his frustration stir, stretching the limits of his patience.
Restless golden grains swirled around his feet as he ordered coolly.] Return to your friends... They will keep you safe.

[ Ishtar had a rather serious look on her face as he said that. She knew it was dangerous and she knew that she shouldn't be here but she had made herself promise to be there for her friends, for the friends she had lost for as long as she could help it and Gaara included even if he seemed to be frustrated enough to tell her to leave. ]
Yeah I know where they are. I still won't leave though. I know you're still hurting.

You told me to overcome it... It... As if "it" was petty and insignificant...
[More incoherent mumbling under his breath, before his next words were uttered firmly.]
You don't know how I feel... Leave, Ishtar.

[ Ishtar seemed to have held her ground pretty well. As much as he did hurt her with his words, she didn't seem to mind it as much as she would have. How would she not know how he feels? He's talking to someone who had gone through a lot of shit too. Granted, his past and his lack of understanding the little things she did. It still wasn't fair to be told she didn't understand anything. It might not be the same level of understanding but it was pretty damn close. ]
I didn't mean it like it was insignificant. You're twisting my words now. I meant it's something you have to overcome as a person. It's not insignificant to overcome pain and loss. It's part of a normal cycle of life. People come and die. and hell don't even give me that crap about leaving.
I know how you feel. Even if it isn't on the same exact level and even if I didn't suffer as much as you did, I understand to some point. I know how you feel when it comes to losing someone you hold really dear to you, and family. I've lost countless of family members too and if I don't completely understand your situation, then tell me, show me so I can get it so I can help you as your friend.

......
[He only partially listened to what she said. Her words were registering as important to the logical part of his mind. Which happened to be a very small functional portion at present.]
He warned me it would happen... [He murmured lowly, eyes watching the sand that was reacting to his emotions.] It was my fault... I shouldn't have relied on hope...
[He didn't respond to her. It seemed as though he had ignored what she said, when his mind was very slowly processing the few words that were actually caught.]

Who warned you about what?
[ She replied keeping herself on guard. She didn't want to upset him but she didn't want him to speak the way he did. There were things that they could do to help the situation. He just needed to open up. Hell who was she kidding? This was Gaara. It was hard for him to do even that, or even understand the fundamentals of emotions. He's slowly getting it she can tell but emotional pain seemed to be overpowering him in a sense. She didn't want him to lose control of himself. ]
Gaara...are you listening to me?
[ she mused after a moment, her eyes locked onto his without much fear. If she was going to have to take damage for this so be it. ]

[He stared at Ishtar for a full minute without recognition. Then, he seemed to have realized who she was, and snapped at her curtly.] I told you to leave. [He turned his face away, intentionally breaking their eye contact.]

If I refuse?
[ She mused back as if challenging him to do something about it. Even thought his was a really bad idea and Ishtar will probably slap herself later for this but it was worth it. It was Gaara. He was like another brother to her. she wasn't going to leave without a fight. ]
Why do you want me to leave so desperately. Don't you trust me?

Stubborn...
[Unfortunately for her, the entire desert was at his discretion to use. Sand rose from the ground underneath her feet and coiled around her ankles, moving the princess away from her current position]

[ Of course Gaara would ignore her words right now. He doesn't even seem to care...or he doesn't want to answer. She wasn't sure but Gaara was being unfair. At least she thought he was. She was just trying to help him. ]
That's the typical thing I get all the time.
[ She mused sighing. It doesn't affect her what he calls her. She was caught a bit off guard by is approach but she wasn't going to let him just take her off like that. ]
What the hell Gaara!
[ She was moved for now falling forward a little. ]

Talk, talk, talk. Why did everyone seem to believe that talking solved everything? Maybe it was something that normal people did, but he was a ninja. They were more prone to physical confrontations than ineffective verbal spats. Especially Gaara, given his background, had a preference for fighting and even violence, to a certain degree. It was just something he didn’t admit out loud.]
Stop testing my patience, Ishtar. [There was a notable edge of irritation in his voice.
Before she could fall flat on her face, her anklet activated, shooting up a trail of sand to catch her. Gaara, having his gaze focused elsewhere, felt that curious prick of energy, but kept his attention on the landscape in front of him. Meanwhile, his sand continued to drag her further away.]

[ Angered by the fact that he wants to ignore, she continues to struggle fruitlessly against the restraints of the sand. Even though her ass was saved by the other one that was buried in her lifeless anklet. Thank you Phelios for working....She didn't really need anymore freaking injuries on top of all her worry. ]
I'm not trying to test your patience. I'm trying to get through to you!
[ Screaming now because she's being dragged away. Spells works wonders in this kind of situation but honestly how does one get rid of sand? She wouldn't be able to cut it or anything. ]
HEY GAARA!!!!
[ She's shouting because that's the best she could do. She won't fight him. Hell no. She's doesn't like to solve things with violence. Talking is better. She had always been like that. ]
