Hope's End Guest Post: Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of Hope’s End! This is where guest writers can have their characters post to the network. These posts will be handled the same way as any other post to the network, but we'll keep them grouped together for everyone's sanity.

All guest characters arrived in Hope’s End with a communicator that resembles a Blackberry. These have text,

[The feed opens to show the back of a young man in a long black coat. He's sprawled out on the sand, blood running down his right arm and looking pretty battered overall. Someone must've been in a fight, and a pretty nasty one at that...

After a moment his head turns this way and that, breathing hard and staring in apparent shock at his surroundings. The camera catches a lingering flash of blue around his eyes before he grips at his face again, rubbing at those eyes and swearing quietly.]

Shit... What's going on?

[Yukio jerks around at the sudden noise, eyes settling on the 'berry after a moment. He reaches for it, squinting hard at the device's small screen. The blue glow has faded from his eyes, but there's still something off about him, and the lack of glasses makes his weariness even more obvious.]

... Nii-san?

[Accidental Audio]

[only_sane_guy]

[There's a bit of a crackling sound, before a loud voice pierces the silence.]

HIMARI-!! [Which is then followed by rushing footsteps.] HIMARI, WHERE ARE YOU?!

[untenuous]

....you're loud.

[A face that may be familiar to some is staring at the 'berry, eyes huge with shock] No. Nononononono! No! I can't be-- How can I be--

[He slumps down, perfectly tailored suit now lightly coated with dust] I can't be back here again. No--! [The 'berry drops from his hands, down into the dirt and Barney stares up at the too-familiar sky]

[Oh a familiar face. Guess who she's going to be blaming this all on.

Also, those are the bars of a cell behind her.]

Barney. What have you gotten me into now?

....Robin?! [He snatches the 'berry back off the ground, staring at her in shock[ Robin! Oh god Robin, you're here too? You can't be back here too. All I remember was you were--

[His eyes are huge, terrified, more terrified than he's ever been] You're okay? You have to be okay. This place--

[Oh wait. He coughs, looking away, and straightens his tie] Guess you got yourself locked up, huh? At least you're safe there, am I right?

[She has no idea what he's so freaked out about or what he's talking about.] All I remember is having a few drinks at the bar like usual before I ended up in jail.

[Smoooooth, Barney. That's real smooth and totally not comforting.] Of course I'm okay, except for the fact that I have no idea how I ended up here.

[Giving him a confused look.] I suppose, if you count being locked up with no police around as safe.

[A dirty blond woman with impossibly curly hair wearing an olive green dress with black leggings is sitting in strange room. She doesn't seem at all surprised to be somewhere strange and looks perfectly calm if not a little amused. When she speaks it's undeniably British.]

If I had a credit for every time I ended up in a strange room I'd be a rich lady. [River can't keep the teasing from her voice.] Though I have to say they're usually better than this, sweetie. And there isn't any handcuffs involved. From the excitement over the radios at least I know it's not a Sunday but the decor is awfully boring and you do hate boring. [Don't even ask how she knows the Doctor is here. Perhaps it's just a feeling or maybe she's actually tracking him.]

As much as I'd like to blame it on your driving [AKA piloting. So she'd have an excuse to pilot the TARDIS from now on.] I'm fairly sure I would have remembered leaving home. [AKA prison.] Explanations of how I got here and what this place is would be wonderful.

You could blame it on my driving if I'd in fact got us here in the first place. But isn't it brilliant? Little 21th century human technology, right in my pocket! I suppose in your pocket too, unless you're just in the phone in my pocket.

Have you seen the old girl, River? I'm a bit at a loss as to how we got here unless she just up and left on me. Well, us. Us? I suppose us. Where are you at now, actually? Spoilers, I hope. Good ones this time.

If I'm not blaming you then who should I be blaming? Oh yes, quite brilliant. Got video chatting and everything.

Haven't seen her and she would stand out in a town like this one. You, she would have up and left you as I wasn't anywhere near her before arriving here. [She leans forward on a bar where rows of alcohol can be seen, then River taps at her blue diary.] There could be quite a few spoilers.

Ah well-- [The Doctor pats himself down before grinning sheepishly, empty handed] You never know. Could work out for once. But I suppose it couldn't could it? Never really does, not with us. You, me, us. Us being us. You know.

I've got to look for her first, and my sonic. Haven't got that either... pity, really. Not a thing on me but this little contraption here.

[The video turns on. There is a very angry British man yelling into the screen]

Where the fucking shit am I? Does someone want to explain what motherfuckers thought it was a good fucking idea to kidnap me and put me in this... this...

[He gestures around wordlessly for a moment]
