038: Darc [Accidental Video]

[The feed switches on to show someone with their back to the camera, standing a little further off into the room. Its obvious who it is given his somewhat unusual features, and also obvious that he doesn't know the camera is recording. He's standing in front of the TV - he found it on when he entered the room - and it can be gathered from his tense

[Aaaand the video is off. Well, he can't say he wouldn't do the same, but ... still. He takes off towards the room in question. If a reply stops him before he gets there or not, well that's not up to him to decide. ]

[He makes no response to the viode message, still feeling too numb and shocked to respond, though he has since migrated back to his own room]

[He's just about in enough of a state to go barging in to that room uninvited ... just about. But politeness wins so instead have a very insistent knock.]

Darc are you in there?

[There's a very long pause before Toris' knock receives any answer. His voice still sounds flat and dull]

...yeah.

[Well it's enough of an answer given the situation. Without bothering to ask if it's okay, he enters and quietly closes the door behind him.]

Are you alright?

[He's sitting on the floor with his back to the wall, knees pulled up to his chin. He doesn't turn to face Toris when he enters, but he doesn't tell him to get out, either]

...I'm fine.

[Which...is a blatant lie, but he's not good at admitting when things are getting to him. His behaviour gives it away easily enough though]

You don't seem it. Destroying the television is completely understandable, but ... that wasn't just destroying it.

[He comes closer, but not close enough to touch, and sits on the floor. Personal space is a big deal especially when you're upset.]

[Personal space is indeed important, especially to Darc; he's never liked people getting to near him. He doesn't look up from the floor just yet, and it takes him a while to answer]

I'm alright. It was just...the stuff they were showing...[And he shudders a little involuntarily; seeing himself in that state makes him feel physically sick]

It's terrible ... I know ... but, it's the past. No matter how bad someone's past is, they can overcome it.

[He really did, but seeing himself like that...it was almost as bad as having experienced it]

[His brow visibly furrows at that; he's really not sure what to make of it. He can't help but feel weak, and useless, and pathetic having seen himself like that, and having been told it his whole life. But then again, he also knows that despite everything that's happened to him he's managed to pull through and survive it, and has never given up on his own goals. He fee;s conflicted and isn't sure what to think]

[Though his voice lacks any bitterness or sarcasm; it still sounds hollow. He sighs and rubs a hand over his face, internally trying to convince himself to listen to what the other male is telling him]

Hmm. [His eyes crack open again and flicker in the other man's direction, and though they're still empty he is at least trying to listen] I suppose. I know I shouldn't let it get to me but...[But as much as he hated to admit it, it was difficult not to]
